    Better is one day in Your courts
    Better is one day in Your house
    Better is one day in Your courts
    Than thousands elsewhere

    I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
    I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
    I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
    I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand.

    Than to be a king of a vast domain
    Or be held in sin’s dread sway,
    I’d rather have Jesus than anything
    This world affords today.

    I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;
    I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;
    I’d rather have Jesus than world-wide fame,
    I’d rather be true to His holy name.

    Than to be a king of a vast domain
    Or be held in sin’s dread sway,
    I’d rather have Jesus than anything
    This world affords today.

    He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
    He’s sweeter than honey from out of the comb;
    He’s all that my hungering spirit needs,
    I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

    Than to be a king of a vast domain
    Or be held in sin’s dread sway,
    I’d rather have Jesus than anything
    This world affords today.

  • wait upon Him

    Hello, can someone please scold these bunch of cheeky ones?? >.<
    but honestly, i'm so touched that they came all the way down!! <3

    Enjoyed supporting Amanda at Indancity concert tonight!! ^^ she was fab, hahaha :D
    The stage and the music always brings a tingly feeling..
    After all that months of hard work and breaking and emotions and all that people-ness, its all there on that stage.
    When the curtains fall, it'd all be over. And I do miss all that, sometimes.

    But, I'm thankful for His reminders to strive for what pleases Him, to keep on keeping on in the Gospel.
    To turn, serve, and wait.
    And in my failures and inadequacies, to continue waiting upon Him.

  • keep the Sabbath

    "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
    for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
    -1 Peter 1:13-16

    I can safely say that I'm stressed over thursday's presentation on typography.. Even words make me stressed now, printed or otherwise. (Serif & Sans-serif.. Do you know how it came about? ;D hehe)
    It's nice to work with Eileen who stresses me out, tho. I think we work nicely together, cos she gets things done ^^
    But anyhow, the gospel is just amazing. We did the 2nd study of Just Looking. And the passage on the bronze serpent really struck me, now.
    God doesn't take away these struggles, but He has already provided a way out.. On His terms.

    Just Looking still reminds me of Liyue, whom we did the studies with 4 times :\ hahaha

    And, I've come to realise how important rest is. Not for the sake of slacking, contrary to the norm's perception. Rather, resting takes discipline.
    And at the end of the day, with a million and one physical, affectual and cognitive reasons and explanations and analysis for the benefits of rest...
    Rest is still good, simply because God instructs us to.
    The tricky part is not to go on to the overview of Ezra, about the 49 years that the people failed to keep the Sabbath and how God punished them. [49 years * (365/7)weeks.. Which is 7 years. Thats the number of years God cursed the land. And why man started devising various forms of trades and intellectuals to sustain themselves. Numbers have a way of sticking, somehow. Hahaha) Well, that really isn't the point. LOL

    Okay, back to work.
    So that I can rest (:

  • I will stand on every promise of Your Word

    This was the part of the book I'm reading on now, on my way home from '88s girls bs last night :D (2 hrs journey, I can't complain that I have no time HAHA)

        "There were three cups at Calvary. The first cup was offered to Him when He arrived at the cross. 'They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it' (Matthew 27:33-34). The word gall has many meanings; in this context it refers to a poisonous herb, perhaps opium. This was wine, mingled with gall to form a sedative to ease the pain. This was the cup of charity, which He refused.
    The second cup was the cup of sympathy. As we have already learned, when Jesus cried out, "I thirst," a soldier dipped a sponge in vinegar, put it on a reed, and lifted it up to Him. Apparently, the moist sponge only touched His lips.
        But there was a third cup that day on Skull Hill. It was the cup of iniquity, which Jesus drank to the dregs. 'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will' (Matthew 26:39). Then, when Peter drew his sword to defend his Master, Jesus rebuked him, 'Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?' (John 18:11). This was the cup of God's wrath, filled to the brim.
        This explains why He refused a sedative: He wanted to drink this cup completely and at full strength without spilling a single drop. This is the cup that He feared and yet chose to lift to His lips. This was the cup of iniquity, drunk dry for you and me."
    -Cries from The Cross (Lutzer)

    "Reiterations", as Rosey puts it (: just because we went through "the cup" during our bible study from Digging Deeper. I'm so glad we started the '88s bs again! & its nice to have Thel back <3
    He bore it all, at full strength. Wow.
    Anyway, when Rosey replied about reiterations, I was reminded of bs during YF with Cheryl ((: she was sharing about how God speaks through the same passage sometimes, which really reminds me of fairfield days :D (when "so you would come" was sung in 3 consecutive events.. don't snort! It meant alot then, okay! aha..)
    & the sharings too.. And I appreciate her perseverance to go through Just Looking, its really tough! And it was so encouraging! But it was all worth it.. Because the Word is just astonishing. (becoming flesh.. Tell me about it! ;D )
    I'm so thankful for this bunch of girls in dg this year, its really a privilege <3

    To appreciate and find contentment in Him alone, that is really all I want to strive for.
    And that will be my constant reminder, in countless times when I feel like I'm fighting the wrong battlefields.
    (because it isn't about me. At all)
  • awesome!!

    i feel like i can Rest In Peace now.
